We will all remember the tornados that struck Nebraska on Arbor Day, 2024.  KLIN Podcast “Tom’s Talk” took the time to interview Lancaster County EOC Director and two members of Nebraska Amateur Radio Emergency Services (NEARES).  The podcast is short but really gives people an understanding of the difference between a spotter and chaser and why spotters save lives by being out in the storm.  Listen to the podcast entitled “Keeping People Safe During Arbor Day Tornados.”

How to Listen To A Storm Net

If you want to listen to the radio communications during an active storm net, go to the “Spotting Page” for your county and listen in by clicking on the radio button.  If a storm net is live, you can hear the spotters as they give weather reports from their locations back to Lancaster County Emergency Operations Center and the National Weather Service who listens in frequently from Valley Nebraska.
